Description

I'd really like to be able to modify the ip range of ranged virtual networks in Sunstone after their creation. Is there any cause why that is not possible?

Sorry! This is no bug, but a request. Clicked the button too fast.

In 4.8, the new networks uses generic IP ranges, in the new networks the size of a range can be changed. Also you can add/remove ranges as needed. Closing this, but if you are missing something related to this feature in OpenNebula 4.8 will re-open it.

Thanks for your feedback.

hi, thanks for the reply!
I've just updated to 4.8 and it's very nice!
However I have a VNET with a range from x.x.x.100 to somewhere and I want to change the start of the range (to x.x.x.101). Sunstone just won't let me do that, the field is greyed out. It can just change the size of the range. x.x.x.100 is not an active lease.

Is it possible to change that?

Hi,

You are right that's (together with type) cannot be changed in the current version. Meanwhile you can:

  • To modify the range from the beginning (upwards) x.x.x.100 ---> x.x.x.110, just hold IPs from 100 to 110
  • To modify the range from the beginning (downwards) add a new AR.
  • To modify the range from the end, increase size

Moving this to backlog to consider its implementation in a future release.

As we have a workaround and this will imply more extra logic, we are closing it by now.
