Documented here: https://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html#elementsIOThreadsAllocation iothreads is the new x-data-plane and yields huge performance gains for block devices.
In order to activate it,
- an iothread (or more) needs to be defined
- virtio disks need to be passed in one iothread (or one per disk) as an attribute
I will submit a PR for this.
